Wouldn't it be nice to check out the autumn leaves somewhere peaceful and not too crowded in Kyoto? Jingo-Ji Temple (神護寺) is the answer!

I got to Kyoto, Japan, in the summer and started my Master's program in the fall semester in mid-September. Well, when I started my Master's degree course, everything was still so new and fresh to me.

So, I had difficulty adapting to the new environment, especially since my Japanese language skills were weak. Also, balancing graduate school and work has been challenging for me then.

November rolled around, and I still felt like I hadn't quite gotten my life together yet. But then, I started to notice the leaves changing color. Oh, that was interesting! Because it refreshed me too.

One day after class, I just had this urge to see some autumn leaves. I didn't want to go too far from my university, though.

So, I hopped on a local bus in front of my university and headed to Jingo-Ji Temple (神護寺) in Kyoto.

Jingo-Ji Temple Can be Found Deep Within Mount Takao

If you're planning a trip to Kyoto, Japan, be sure to add Jingo-ji temple (神護寺) to your list of must-see destinations. This beautiful Buddhist temple is a true gem of the city, offering us a glimpse into Japan's rich cultural and religious heritage.

As you go to Jingo-Ji Temple (神護寺), you'll be treated to a stunning display of autumn foliage. As I said, it's located in the midst of Mount Takao. So, the vibrant leaves will line your path and create a picturesque scene that will take your breath away.

The beauty of the natural world is truly a sight to behold, and it's an experience that shouldn't be missed. From the vibrant oranges and yellows of the leaves to the deep reds and browns of the trees, there's no shortage of breathtaking scenery to take in.
